Publishing World

We believe publication design is a symphony. It encompasses an experience where we are openly mesmorized by the story within. It is noise and silence, calm and tense, dark and light. Each spread is a stroke painted, a chord struck, a poem written, and for it to flow with it’s counterparts — it’s even a blank page. From cover to cover a unique story unfolds. It’s what we mean when we say we are guided by rhythm as we embrace intuition.

Illuminative —
this is our legacy Book
Collaboration with INDÍGENA, 2025 This powerful 9”x12” coffee table book showcases some of the work IllumiNative has supported over the past seven years. There are 104 pages displayed in this beautiful hardbound treasure which is embellished with a special emboss treatment on the cover’s title. “This Is Our Legacy” rises from the surface, the land, where IllumiNative is deeply engrained, and has set out to successfully build an inclusive, truly democratic, pluralist, and sustainable society. This book displays how it has merged politics, creativity, representation, and pop culture to drive meaningful change.

Cystinosis Research FoundationThe Cystinosis Research Foundation is making waves in the scientific community. Advocating for a rare disease is, by default, a task fit for resistance. And CRF is shining through it, setting the bar for non-profits, getting straight to the root, and finding a cure. We began with a complete magazine overhaul in 2015. It included a new masthead, which has became the Foundation’s logo. This semi-annual publication is a place for the global cystinosis community to connect, where researchers share updates, families tell their stories, and donors come to support it all.

Emigdio Vasquez —
Fred Ortiz Collection
2019 — 2023
From coffee table book to museum exhibition. This 66-page book is a narrative of Fred Ortiz’s relationship with the late Chicano artist Emigdio Vasquez. For 4 years we met and orchestrated Fred’s original art collection, memories, and memorabilia to craft their story. The final book caught the attention of Mark Hilbert and this collection of work earned an exhibit, almost verbatim, in the new wing of the Hilbert Museum of California Art in February 2024.

These pages hold a lot of Indigenous joy combined with the real talk that LANDBACK is, which made for a beautiful rhythm as you flow through this 100-page symphony of activism.
